MBA Intern - Business Development

This is a high-impact opportunity for an ambitious MBA student eager to dive into a fast-moving startup solving a massive climate and logistics challenge. At Jaro, we’re a team of experienced operators who set a high bar for quality, value collaboration, and foster a culture of continuous learning. You’ll work closely with the founding team on strategic initiatives that drive growth across business development, partnerships, and operations. You'll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, take on real responsibility from day one, and engage with top investors and industry leaders. This role is based in our Oakland, CA office, with an expectation of at least three in-office days per week.
What You'll Do
- Own key projects that drive commercial growth, customer engagement, or strategic insights
- Conduct market research and develop recommendations for go-to-market strategies
- Support business development initiatives, including customer and investor outreach
- Work closely with the CEO and leadership team on high-priority company initiatives
- Balance frequent priority shifts in an evolving startup

- Prior experience in business development, strategy, consulting, finance, or operations is a plus
About Jaro Fleet Technologies
Jaro Fleet Technologies is a well-funded (GGV, Lerer-Hippeau, Maersk) early-stage startup led by EV expert Joe Miler (ex-Apple Special Projects, Lucid, MIT, Stanford). Jaro is in stealth, commercializing an industry-first business model to beat diesel semi-trucking on a cost-per-mile basis. The model leverages renewable energy assets and commodity EV technologies in a novel configuration to unlock enormous cost savings and scalability. Today, commercial solar is 10x cheaper than diesel on a $/mile basis—yet diesel still dominates. Jaro aims to change that.
